Put SlideBites on your home screen
It behaves like an app once it's there — full screen, its own icon, one tap from the lock screen. There is nothing to download and no app store account.
Why bother?
- Teaching often starts with no notice — one tap beats finding a tab
- It opens full screen, so the slides use the whole phone with no address bar in the way
- Presenting from your pocket is the normal way to use it, not a fallback
- Your audience never needs to install anything — they just scan the code
How to add it
iPhone or iPad
- 1.Open slidebites.com in Safari
- 2.Tap the Share button at the bottom
- 3.Choose “Add to Home Screen”
- 4.Tap Add — the SlideBites icon appears with your other apps
Android
- 1.Open slidebites.com in Chrome
- 2.Tap the three dots, top right
- 3.Choose “Add to Home screen” or “Install app”
- 4.Confirm — the icon appears on your home screen
Desktop
- 1.Open slidebites.com in Chrome or Edge
- 2.Click the install icon in the address bar
- 3.SlideBites opens in its own window, without browser tabs
What it does and doesn't do offline
Being honest about this: SlideBites needs a connection. The installed app opens instantly and keeps your place, but writing a session, presenting to a room, saving cards and collecting feedback all talk to the internet. If you have no signal, hold off until you do — nothing is silently lost, but nothing new can be saved either.
Is it safe on a work phone?
It is the website itself, added as an icon — no separate program is installed and no special permissions are asked for. You can remove it the same way you remove any app icon, and your account and content stay exactly as they were.
