Acceptable use policy

Short version: teach generously, protect patients, respect other people's work. Last updated 9 September 2026.

Patient safety and confidentiality

  • Never upload or type patient-identifiable information — names, dates of birth, hospital or NHS numbers, addresses, faces, or unredacted images, scans and documents.
  • De-identify every case before you teach it, and follow your employer's information-governance policy.
  • Do not use Slidebites to store or transmit clinical records, or as any part of direct patient care.

Content rules

  • No unlawful, hateful, harassing, defamatory, sexually explicit or violent content.
  • No deliberately misleading medical claims, and no content designed to promote unsafe practice.
  • No deepfakes or misuse of a real person's likeness or identity.
  • No content you do not have the rights to use — check images, figures and text before uploading.
  • Always credit and link the guideline or paper a clinical claim comes from.

Platform rules

  • No scraping, bulk-downloading, resale, sublicensing or redistribution of the service or other users' content.
  • No attempts to bypass usage limits, security controls or access rules; no probing or penetration testing without written consent.
  • No malware, spam, bots, credential sharing or automated account creation.
  • No impersonating another clinician, department or institution.

If someone breaks these rules

Report it to hello@slidebites.com with a link and a short description. We review reports, remove content where appropriate, and can restrict or close accounts. Serious or repeated breaches end access permanently, and we may notify the relevant authority or regulator where patient safety is at risk.
